Head Coach

My name is Aman Hadid. I am an ex- international and national league footballer. I have represented Gold Coast United in the Hyundai A- league, represented State Teams for NSW been a part of the Australian u23 Olympic training squad and had the honour to represent Lebanon for the  World Cup qualifiers against Kuwait and South Korea in 2011.

After my retirement as a full time footballer, we set up Australian Soccer School. Our  mission as an organisation is to promote youngsters and provide them with the best coaching, resources and mentoring to help create Australia’s next Socceroos and Matildas.

Australian Soccer School coaches are very experienced and include the legend Steve O Connor who ran the Australian Institute of Sport for over 12 years on Canberra generating some of the best talented footballers Australia has ever produced to date (see profile below).

Our goal is also driving the youth to become leaders of the community who guide youngsters in the same path.

Australian soccer school runs a professional training sessions 5 times a week from 6-730am for non- contracted athletes until these players find a professional club.

Australian Soccer School is proud to announce our newest world class coaching recruit, Steve O’Conner! Steve O’Conner has had a coaching career second to none! Starting back in 1990, Steve was the Men’s Football Program’s Assistant Coach at the Australian Institute of Sport, where Steve went on to completing his Level 3 Coaching Accreditation and the AIS High Performance Coaching Diploma. Moving on to Technical Director of the NSW Soccer Federation, Steve coached Australian Football Royalties, Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton! After a couple of years as TD of NSW, Steve went onto being the Head Coach of the AIS Men’s Football Program for 12 consecutive years. During his time as Head Coach at AIS, Steve was also the Assistant Coach at various times for the U/17, U/20 and U/23 National Teams and was the Head Coach of the U/20 National Team from 1996 – 2008. Suring this time Steve received his Community Accreditation Senior Licence and Advanced Accreditation A Licence. In 2007/2008, Steve took the Australian National U/20’s Association Football Team, the Young Socceroos, to the Asian qualifiers for the Youth World Cup.

After retiring from the AIS, Steve joined Sydney FC as the Technical Director and Youth Coach in 2008, where the Youth Team won the inaugural National Youth League title and Grand Final, where five of his players progressed to the U/20 National Team and received Senior A-League contracts.

In 2012, Steve O’Conner joined the Hong Kong Football Association as Technical Director, where Steve improved standards of youth football, local coaching, referee development and women’s football.

Australian Soccer School is excited to have Steve O’Conner and his experience on board, and we look forward to giving our youth the opportunity to develop and work with a World Class Coach.
